Office Policies
Clear, simple policies that keep care respectful, transparent, and on time for every patient.
How we run the office
Our policies, plain and simple
Most of our policies exist for one reason: to make sure every patient gets unhurried, transparent, high quality care. If anything below is unclear, ask us. We would rather answer questions up front than have surprises later.
Appointments and arrival
Please plan to arrive about ten minutes before your scheduled time so we can get you checked in and into your operatory on schedule. If you have not filled out your new patient forms ahead of time, give yourself an extra five minutes. Running late? Call us. If we can still fit the full visit in without pushing our other patients back, we will. If not, we will reschedule you for the next available slot.
Cancellation and rescheduling
Life happens, and we appreciate as much notice as you can give when you need to move an appointment, ideally at least 48 hours for routine visits and more for surgical or sedation appointments. Early notice lets us offer your slot to another patient who has been waiting. For patients who need to reschedule on short notice repeatedly, we may ask for a small deposit to hold future appointments so our team can plan staffing accordingly.
Treatment planning
Before any work begins we will explain what we found, what your options are, why we are recommending one option over another, and how much each option will cost. You decide what is right for you. We will never sell you treatment you do not need or rush you into a decision.
Insurance and benefits
We accept most PPO insurance plans. We will run your benefits in advance and provide a written estimate showing your insurance portion and your portion before treatment. Insurance carrier estimates are not guarantees of payment, but we will work with you to maximize your covered benefits.
Payment options
We accept all major credit cards, debit, cash, and HSA or FSA cards. For larger treatment plans we offer in office payment arrangements and outside financing through Cherry and CareCredit. Payment is due at the time of service unless we have made other arrangements in advance.
Children and accompanying guests
Kids are welcome in our office. For pediatric appointments, please plan to stay in the operatory or the lobby for the duration of the visit. We ask that other guests wait in the lobby during your appointment so we can keep operatories focused on care.
Medical history and updates
Please tell us about any medications, supplements, or medical conditions, including pregnancy. Some dental treatments interact with common medications and we want to keep you safe. Update us at every visit, even if nothing seems to have changed.
Emergencies
If you are an existing patient and need urgent care, call our office first. We hold same day slots open whenever possible. After hours calls are routed to our after hours line at (916) 581-3363. For life threatening swelling or trauma, go directly to the nearest emergency room.
Our promise
Care that respects your time, your budget, and your trust
We have built Sacramento Dentistry Group around a simple idea: dentistry should not be confusing, scary, or expensive in a way you cannot plan for. Here is what that looks like in practice.
- Acceptance of most major dental insurance plans.
- Transparent pricing and written estimates before treatment.
- In office and outside financing through Cherry and CareCredit.
- Special consideration for veterans and active duty service members.
- A judgment free environment for nervous and lapsed patients.
